Chose your provider wisely!

Its a tragedy that this can happen.
The points I would raise are to always chose a UK registered plastic surgeon who is a member of BAAPS and/or BAPRAS We hold the qualification of FRCS (plast) which is a training level admired round the world.
Furthermore, we, as UK surgeons are responsible for our patients. You do not have to rely on a clinic as a third party in an arrangement. It is also possible that a clinic could hide behind the surgeon and his responsibilities. This makes it terribly difficult to seek recourse if a surgeon goes back to his country of residence or goes bankrupt as has happened here.
I would also stress that I hold personal UK medical malpractice insurance which is an absolute must for any UK practising surgeon in my view.
