Is liposuction suitable for men?
In the world of cosmetic and plastic surgery, there are certain operations that have more of a lean towards a particular gender; however there are rarely reasons why common procedures cannot be suitable for either of the sexes.
Both genders can benefit from liposuction
Once such procedure is liposuction. This was historically an operation favoured by women, yet it is now the fastest growing cosmetic surgical procedures for men in the UK. Nowadays, around 25% of liposuction operations are actually performed on men, and this trend is also apparent in Mr Alan Park‘s Warwickshire liposuction clinic.
Liposuction is commonly mistaken for weight loss surgery, and this is not the case. Common areas chosen for liposuction include arms, thighs, knees, abdomen, hips, buttocks, chin, waist and back – so this type of operation is very versatile and can offer a solution for many problem areas.
It is also considered very effective, as it is adept at removing persistent fat cells from problem areas. The result of successful liposuction will be smoother, firmer skin and an overall leaner appearance. And it is perfectly suitable for men or women.
Suitable for men or women
The ideal candidates for liposuction are those who have been trying a combination of diet and exercise to lose weight, but who are stuck with troublesome, stubborn pockets of fat, that just don’t want to budge.
This type of procedure is idea for ‘targeted reshaping’ of particular areas of the body, and it is recommended that the operation is best undertaken when you have reached your target weight (or ideally a little below your target) so that it is very clear which are the remaining fatty areas that need attention.
More socially acceptable
Liposuction is ideal for men who are looking to demonstrate muscle definition, and in recent years, the increased uptake of this type of operation by men can be attributed to a number of factors. Importantly, men are breaking down the social barriers and are recognising that there is no reason that they should not benefit in the same way that women do from this relatively straight forward operation.
Liposuction also leaves minimal scarring as the incision site is typically very small. The benefit of this being that if someone has undertaken this procedure, it will be hard for the tell-tale signs of the surgeon’s work to be outwardly visible.
